I’m thrilled to share some local history about Ping Villa, I named it Ping Villa as it is set along the serene Ping River, and I’ve been uncovering its fascinating background.  
Ping Villa is a stunning traditional home designed by Junlatath Kitibuth, a National Artist in Architecture. This hidden gem beautifully embodies Lanna architecture, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern innovation.
Junlatath, a Chulalongkorn University graduate from 1968, returned to Chiang Mai inspired to revive Lanna architecture. His work is celebrated for using local materials such as terracotta tiles and intricate wooden carvings, creating a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity.
Junlatath’s approach is deeply tied to the cultural and spiritual heritage of northern Thailand. His designs are more than just aesthetic; they aim to harmonize with nature, blending indoor and outdoor spaces to create an immersive, peaceful experience.
This is evident in his renowned Regent Hotel (now the Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai), where rice terraces and lush greenery are integral to the guest experience.
Ping Villa reflects these principles with its flowing gardens, terracotta-tiled rooflines, and organic materials that blend seamlessly with the natural surroundings.
