I’m excited to share the small reserach on the Architect of Ping Villa, a name I chose for its peaceful location along the Ping River.
This traditional home, designed by National Artist Junlatath Kitibuth, beautifully blends Lanna architecture with modern innovation.
A 1968 graduate of Chulalongkorn University, Junlatath returned to Chiang Mai to revive Lanna architecture, incorporating local materials like terracotta tiles and intricate wood carvings. His designs, which harmonize with nature, are exemplified in the Regent Hotel (now the Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai), where indoor and outdoor spaces create a tranquil, immersive experience.
His influence extends to several temples around Thailand, including Wat Pa Daraphirom and Wat Suan Dok in Chiang Mai, where his designs honor the region’s cultural heritage.
When you arrive at Ping Villa, you can feel Junlatath's intention in every corner—the calmness and harmony of the space are immediately apparent, offering a serene atmosphere that connects with both the natural surroundings and the soul.
Ping Villa reflects these principles with its terracotta-tiled rooflines and organic materials, making it a perfect setting for retreats and intimate gatherings.
Junlatath’s legacy is woven into every detail of this extraordinary space.
Come explore Ping Villa and experience the warmth of Lanna culture alongside modern comforts.
